GOLDBERG VIOLIN

Effective Date: 08/01/2025

Welcome to GOLDBERG VIOLIN. By accessing or using my website or services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.  These policies help ensure clarity, consistency, and a positive learning experience.

1. Services Offered

I provide private violin lessons both in person and online. Lesson availability and format are scheduled in advance, based on mutual availability.  Pricing is subject to change at my discretion, with notice provided in advance.

2. Lesson Attendance & Cancellation Policy

Scheduling:

Lessons are scheduled in advance by mutual agreement. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify me at least 24 hours before the lesson.

General Health Policy:

  • If a student is sick (fever, contagious illness, persistent cough), please reschedule or request an online lesson.

  • I reserve the right to refuse a lesson if the student appears unwell.

  • Hand sanitizer and tissues are available in the studio.

Cancellations:
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed lessons without notice will be charged the full lesson fee. Exceptions made in cases of genuine emergency or sudden illness. In such cases, please notify me as soon as possible.

Late Arrivals:

To help lessons run smoothly and respect everyone's time, please review the following guidelines for texting and attendance:

  • Notify Me of Last-Minute Changes:

If your child will be late, absent, or needs to leave early, please notify me via text as soon as possible. This helps me manage the schedule.

  • Advance Notice is Appreciated:

Whenever possible, please give advance notice of any scheduling changes. Last-minute updates should be reserved for unexpected issues only.

  • 15-Minute Grace Period:

If no message is received and you are more than 15 minutes late, the lesson may be considered a no-show and will not be made up or refunded.

  • Lessons End at the Scheduled Time:

To respect all students’ scheduled time, lessons will end at the originally scheduled time, regardless of late arrival. If you arrive late, your lesson will be shortened accordingly, but full payment is still required.

  • Frequent Disruptions:

Repeated lateness or last-minute cancellations may lead to shortened lessons, loss of lesson slots, or a reevaluation of your scheduled time.

  • Contact Info:

Please text time-sensitive updates to 773-497-1814. For non-urgent matters, email is preferred.

3. Payment Terms

Payment instructions will be provided on a monthly basis, as agreed.

  • Lessons are billed on a monthly basis.

  • Invoices will be emailed at the beginning of each month.

  • Payment is due within 14 days of receiving your invoice (or immediately after each lesson).

  • Late payments may result in suspension of lessons until payment is received.

  • I do not offer refunds for late-arrivals, missed, or canceled lessons.

4. Use of Website & Copyright

You agree not to misuse this website. All photos, videos, logos, and written content on this website are the property of GOLDBERG VIOLIN.  This content may not be copied, distributed, or used without permission.

5. Lessons for Minors

If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian must:

  • Register them for lessons

  • Agree to these terms

  • Be responsible for scheduling and payment

Timely Pick-Up Required:

Parents or guardians must ensure that minors are dropped off and picked up promptly. Out of respect for my schedule and personal time, students must be picked up within 10 minutes of the lesson's scheduled end time.

Responsibility for Late Pick-Up:

If a parent or guardian is late and I must leave the premises, the child will be required to wait outside on the front step until the parent arrives. I am not responsible for supervising students beyond the scheduled lesson time and cannot guarantee their safety once outside the home.

By enrolling in lessons, parents/guardians acknowledge and accept this policy. Repeated late pick-ups may result in additional fees or discontinuation of lessons.

6. Limitation Disclaimer & Damage Responsibility

Internet:

I am not responsible for internet outages, audio/video issues, or other technical interruptions during online lessons.

Safety at Studio Premises:

I take reasonable precautions to ensure a safe learning environment during in-person lessons at my home studio.

By attending in-person lessons, the student (and their parent/guardian, if under 18) understands and accepts any inherent risks associated with visiting a private residence. By registering for lessons, students and their guardians acknowledge and accept to release and hold harmless AMY GOLDBERG from any liability or claims for personal injury, property damage, or other loss that may occur during, or as a result of, participation in these lessons.

I am not responsible for minors before or after their scheduled lesson time.

Respect for Studio Space:
Students and accompanying family members are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly while on my property. Any damage to my home, belongings, or teaching space caused by negligence or misconduct may result in financial responsibility for repairs or replacement.

I reserve the right to discontinue in-person lessons if safety or respect for the space becomes an issue.

Instrument Care & Liability:

I am not liable for injuries, accidents, or damage to students' instruments that occur during, between, or outside of scheduled lesson times. Students (or their parent/guardian, if under 18) assume all responsibility for the safe handling and use of their instruments and equipment. Participation in lessons is at your own risk.

Additionally, students and parents/guardians are expected to treat all studio property, including my personal instruments and equipment, with care and respect. Any damage caused to my instruments due to negligence or misuse may result in a request for reimbursement.

7. Studio Environment, Health, and Safety

Safety and Supervision:

  • For minor students: Parents/guardians are encouraged to stay during lessons, or may sit quietly in the hallway waiting area outside the studio.

  • Please supervise siblings or guests who accompany the student.

  • The teacher is not responsible for siblings or accompanying  guests.

Animals in the Home:

Please note that cats are present in the household. The animals will not be in the teaching space during lessons. However, if you have allergies or concerns, please notify me prior to your first lesson.

By enrolling, you acknowledge this and understand that interaction with the cats is at your own risk. The studio is not liable for any injuries resulting from contact with the animals, especially if they are approached, handled, or disturbed.

As lessons are held in a private residence where indoor cats live, students and accompanying persons are kindly asked to be mindful of doors and windows. Please do not let the cats outside under any circumstances. This is for their safety and well-being. Thank you for your cooperation.

Cleanliness:

  • Please arrive with clean hands and trimmed fingernails (important for playing violin).

  • Avoid bringing food or drinks into the teaching space (water bottles are okay).

Shoes and Outerwear:

  • Students and families/guests will be asked to remove shoes upon entering the home.

  • Wet or muddy items should be left outside or by the front door.

Weather Policy / Emergency Closures:

  • In cases of inclement weather (snowstorms, etc.), lessons may be moved online or rescheduled.

  • If the studio must close unexpectedly (e.g., illness, emergency), I will notify students ASAP and offer an online lesson or a rescheduling option.

  • Lessons are held on private property, and every effort will be made to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all students and their families. This includes reasonable maintenance of walkways, driveways, and entrances throughout the year, including snow and ice removal during winter months. While care is taken to protect students and visitors, all individuals enter at their own risk. Please use caution and notify me in advance if conditions may be unsafe.

Accessibility:

  • Please inform me in advance of any physical or sensory needs that may affect access to the studio space (e.g., stairs, seating, lighting).

8. Changes to These Terms

Communication Consent:

By registering for lessons, you consent to receive email, texts, and/or phone communication from me related to scheduling, billing, and lesson updates.  Your contact information will not be shared or used for marketing purposes without your permission.

I may update these Terms at any time. Any updates will be posted on the website, and continued participation in lessons implies agreement to the updated terms.
